JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a Business Office Assistant, whose responsibility is to support the Business Office Coordinator in the administration of resident financial services and business office operations within the long-term care facility. This position is responsible for assisting with Medicaid eligibility and application processing, accounts receivable management, billing support, regulatory compliance, resident and family financial counseling and front office reception services. The Business Office Assistant helps ensure accurate reimbursement, financial integrity, and exceptional customer service while supporting the facility's mission of providing quality resident care. The position reports to the Nursing Home Administrator.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion of high school diploma. Associate degree in business administration, accounting, healthcare administration or related field preferred. College classes helpful.2. Formal Training: Working knowledge of Medicaid eligibility requirements, reimbursement processes and long-term care regulations preferred. Financial documentation review and analysis. Accounts receivable and billing experience. Customer service and family relations. Recordkeeping and data management.3. Licensure, Certifications & Registration: None required.4. Work Experience: Prior experience working in a nursing home or healthcare business office, billing, accounts receivable or Medicaid-related role preferred. Experience with billing systems, electronic health records, and business office software preferred.
